In light of the largest meat recall in American history, I felt I would share this funny and relevant video.
Uh-oh…I was so disappointed not to be able to view this YouTube commentary on the meat recall…why did they pull it? As for the recall itself…some of those videos shown of the cattle looked like they knew they were about to be slaughterd and decided to just lay down and strike. I don’t blame them! Hard to know if we could possibly only eat animals who don’t know they are to become our next meal. Food for thought!
I think it’s working now…not sure why that happened. I saw the videos as well. They were incredibly disturbing. They certainly did seem to be in protest. I think its more clear than ever the importance of buying organic, locally grown, heritage bred meat. I would gladly pay extra and eat meat less frequently if I knew where it came from. Local farmer’s markets are a great place to do that, as well as looking online at http://www.eatwild.com and lastly visiting farms is a great way to feel connected to the food chain and make educated choices about where your food comes from.
